Ingredients

1 (16 oz) Package green split peas, sorted & rinsed
2 Cups cooked ham, diced
3 Carrots, diced
3 Potatoes, diced
1/2 Cup onion, diced
3 Celery ribs, diced
2 Garlic cloves, minced
1 Bay leave
12 Parsley sprigs, snipped
1 Tablespoon seasoned salt
1/2 Teaspoon fresh ground pepper
6 Cups water

Instructions

Layer ingredients in crockpot in order listed. Do not stir to mix. Pour water gently over layers. Cover and cook on HIGH for 4 to 5 hours or LOW for 8 to 10 hours until peas are soft. Remove bay leaf; mash peas to thicken, if desired, or stir to blend soup. Top with croutons if desired.
