Ingredients
7 Ounces spaghetti or vermicelli, cooked
2 Teaspoons dried basil, divided
1 Garlic clove, pressed
1/4 Cup butter or margarine, melted
1/2 Cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 Large egg
1 Cup ricotta cheese
1 Pound lean ground beef
1 Medium onion, chopped
1 (15 oz) Can tomato sauce
1 (6 oz) Can tomato paste
1 Teaspoon dried oregano
1 Cup fresh mushrooms, sliced
6 Ounces mozzarella cheese, sliced
Instructions
Combine pasta, 1 teaspoon basil, garlic, and next 3 ingredients. Spoon into a lightly greased 10� pie plate and spread ricotta cheese over mixture.
Cook ground beef and onion in a large skillet over medium-high heat, stirring until meat crumbles; drain well. Stir remaining 1 teaspoon basil, tomato sauce, and next 3 ingredients into beef mixture. Cook 5 minutes or until thoroughly heated, spoon over ricotta cheese.
Bake at 350�F for 25 minutes. Top with mozzarella cheese slices, and bake 5 more minutes.
