Ingredients

1 Pound raw red kidney beans
1 (46 oz) chicken broth
2 Cups water
1 Pound smoked sausage, sliced
1 Cup barley
2 Bay leaves
1/2 Teaspoon garlic powder
1 Teaspoon thyme

Instructions

Rinse beans. Place in a large bowl, cover with water and soak overnight. Drain and rinse. Put all ingredients in a large crockpot, stir, cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours.
