Ingredients

4 Eggs, lightly beaten
1 Cup milk
1/2 Teaspoon vanilla extract
2 Tablespoons cocoa powder (optional)
2 to 4 Tablespoons sugar (optional)

Instructions

Mix together eggs, milk and vanilla. Pour into a flat dish and add about 8 slices day-old French bread. Turn slices. Heat a griddle or large skillet on medium-high heat. Add butter to skillet. Add soaked bread slices and cook until lightly brown on the outside. Sprinkle with a bit of sifted powdered sugar to serve.
