Ingredients
2 Pounds cube steak
1 1/2 Teaspoon salt
1/2 Teaspoon black pepper
Flour, as needed
1 Cup water
1 (10 oz) Can cream of chicken soup
Vegetable oil, as needed
Instructions
Season the cube steaks with salt and pepper and then dredge in flour until coated. Shake off any excess.
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat, add the cube steaks and cook on each side until golden brown.
Meanwhile, combine the water and cream of chicken soup in a bowl until blended. Place most of the soup mixture in the bottom of the crockpot (reserve about 1/3 to 1/2 cup).
When the cube steaks are browned, place them on top of the soup mixture in the crock ot. Drizzle the remaining soup mixture over the top (do not completely coat them or they will get soggy).
Cover the crockpot and cook on high for 2 hours or until the cube steaks are tender.
Serve the steaks hot with the cream gravy.
