Ingredients

2 Pounds chicken thighs, boneless, skinless, cubed
2 Cups water
2 Large white onions, chopped
2 Cups celery, diagonally sliced
1/2 Teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 Teaspoon ground ginger
1 Tablespoon Hoisin Sauce or Oyster Sauce
1/4 Cup flour or cornstarch
1/4 Cup soy sauce
1 Can bean sprouts, drained
1 Can bamboo shoots (optional)
1 Can water chestnuts, drained and sliced
3 Tablespoons molasses
Chow mein noodles or fluffy rice

Instructions

Place chicken with water, onions and celery in crockpot. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours. One hour before serving, turn to HIGH. Combine flour with soy sauce and stir into crockpot with bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts and molasses. Stir well until thickened; taste for seasoning. Turn to LOW until ready to serve, up to 4 hours. Serve over chow mein noodles or hot fluffy rice.
