Ingredients
1 Pound ground beef
1/2 Cup chopped onion
1/2 Green bell pepper, chopped
1/2 Head cabbage, chopped
1 Can sliced mushrooms, drained
1 Cup raw long grain rice
2 (15 ounce) Cans tomato sauce
1 (6 ounce) Can tomato paste
2 Cups water
1 1/2 Teaspoon salt
1/2 Teaspoon thyme
1 Bay leaf
Instructions
Brown ground beef in a large skillet. Stir to break up. Add onion, green pepper, cabbage, mushrooms and rice. Stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste, water and seasonings. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 25 minutes or until rice is tender stirring occasionally and adding more water if necessary.
